About the event
JuliAnna Munden will be teaching two seminars on Friday, March 31st , 2023. This is a great opportunity to get excellent instruction and feedback from an expert agility instructor and competitor. The arena is fully enclosed, 60 x 140 on turf.
JuliAnna is fun and insightful instructor who has an excellent ability to see each team as individual and hone in on what is most helpful to the team. She has competed at AKC Nationals, Cynosports, World Team Tryouts, European Open Tryouts, and many regional events and has earned notable placements at these various events. This year she will be competing on two US world teams. Her passion for both training dogs and competing in agility has led her to yet another wonderful opportunity and privilege: sharing her knowledge and experience with others to help them grow and succeed in whatever journeys they wish to take on with their own dogs. "It has been incredibly rewarding to share the wealth of knowledge my dogs have taught me to aspiring agility teams. We strive to reach for the stars of endless dreams, which looks different for each team and each dog, no matter what attempts to get in our way or how long it takes."
Two 3.5 hr sessions are offered.
Working spots are limited to 6 dogs in each session and are $155. Auditing spots are unlimited and cost $30 per session.
If you have paid for a working spot in one session, you may audit the other session for free. Payment is due at the time of registration and is non-refundable. Refunds will only be given if someone else is able to use your spot if you are unable to attend.
9:00am - 12:30pm Everything Collection – When it is Time to Slow Down: This session is good for anyone struggling with collection, but also appropriate for novice dogs learning collection. In this seminar, we take a look at the foundations and progression for all things collection. We will cover tight wraps and soft collection, as well as various drills to continue to build strong understanding of these concepts. Dogs should be wrapping a wing and a low jump, and have a “Go On!” cue for sprinting ahead on the flat and on obstacles (line of jumps, tunnel, etc.). Dogs should be able to focus in new environments and be competent on jumps and tunnels to have a working spot.
1:30pm - 5:00pm Individualized Handling Analysis/Feedback using Coursework This session is geared toward Masters/Sen/Champ level teams and will include full coursework. JuliAnna will use the course to test/challenge/guide teams based on assessment on handler focus/connection, timing and execution, decision making, consistency under pressure, efficiency for speed, and next steps for growth. This will be similar to a typical seminar coursework experience. The course will include international elements. Dogs should be at least 15 months of age, comfortable working in new environments, competent on all obstacles and be eager to learn!
