About the event
Three workshops will be taught by Peyton to help handlers and their dogs develop their agility skills:
February 17, 10am: Verbals & Discriminations
In this 2 hour workshop we'll be working on verbals and discriminations! You'll learn how to use generalization and patterning to train your dog to discriminate between verbals without creating frustration. This workshop will only include jumps and tunnels, but the same concepts will apply for other obstacles. Dogs must have experience with jumps and tunnels. Limited to 4 dogs.
February 17, 12pm: Layering Skills
In this 2 hour workshop we'll be working on a new popular trend in course design, layering! Layering has become very common in international agility, but is starting to become more and more popular in local trials too. We'll be teaching some layering skills and then testing them in sequences. This workshop is open to dogs running masters type courses and able to perform all obstacles. Limited to 4 dogs.
February 17, 2pm: Threadles
In this 2 hour workshop we'll be working on all things threadles! Threadles are a commonly needed skill in international courseswork. We'll work on both the dog skills and handler skills needed to execute threadle slices and threadle wraps. We can start training them from scratch for dogs that don't have previous threadle experience or we can work on making them stronger and more independent for more experienced dogs. Dogs must have experience with jumps and tunnels and with small sequences. Limited to 4 dogs.
