About the event
Four workshops will be taught by Peyton to help handlers and their dogs develop their agility skills:
July 15, 10am: International Coursework
In this 3 workshop we will be working on international coursework. We’ll test and grow our international skills and discuss some of the common challenges currently being seen in ISC and UKI. This’ll be a great opportunity to run a fast and challenging international course. This workshop is open to dogs running master type courses and able to perform all obstacles. Limited to 6 dogs
July 15, 1:30pm: Weaving: Beginning to End!
In this workshop we'll begin to teach our dogs the weave poles! This workshop is designed for dogs with no experience weaving, but we can also work on problem solving any weave issues. We’ll discuss all things training weaves from beginning to end and we’ll begin the first steps of training them! This workshop doesn't require any prior experience weaving, but your dog should have some previous experience training and should be able to work around distractions. Limited to 6 dogs
July 16, 10am: Novice Sequencing
Have a young dog that needs more experience? In this 3 hour workshop we will be working on novice coursework and working all those young dog skills! We’ll work through a course and discuss handling options and the skills needed. These skills will apply for the novice level in any venue. We will only be sequencing jumps and tunnels, but dogs should be able to perform short sequences. Only front sides of jumps will be used. Limited to 6 dogs.
July 16, 1:30pm: Introduction to Agility
In this 2 hour workshop we’ll introduce you and your dog to the sport of dog agility! Dogs will begin to learn foundational behaviors and games that are pivotal for their success in agility and will be introduced to some basic equipment. This will be a great way to get a taste of whether agility is the sport for you! Handlers and dogs do not need experience to participate, but may not be aggressive towards dogs or people. Limited to 6 dogs
